Institute of Bankers

Institute of Bankers

Pearse Street, Dublin

In Dublin, the Chartered Accountants House at 47-49 Pearse Street is a historic landmark. The Institute of Bankers (IOB) aimed to modernise its outdated fourth floor, creating a dynamic, sustainable workspace that reflected their progressive brand. This challenging project required a partner skilled in retrofitting within a live urban environment.

Scope: Transforming Tradition

Spanning 7,082 sq. ft., the project, in collaboration with CBRE Architects, introduced adaptable workspaces, breakout zones, a high-tech canteen, and a function room. Mechanical, electrical, and fire safety systems were overhauled to meet modern standards, ensuring minimal disruption to the active building.

Navigating Live Urban Challenges

Pearse Street’s high-traffic location and the building’s daily operations demanded precise logistics. Materials and waste were moved during off-peak hours, and installations, including wireless infrastructure, were completed after hours. Legacy systems were modernised without compromising the building’s functionality or heritage.

Innovative Solutions: Efficiency with Minimal Impact

Acoustic upgrades, fire safety enhancements, and custom joinery harmonised with the building’s design while meeting modern standards. Off-hours scheduling preserved tenant activities, exemplifying Built Interiors’ commitment to operational efficiency and tenant satisfaction.

Results: A Seamless Transformation

Delivered on time and within budget, the revitalised fourth floor reflects the IOB’s forward-thinking ethos. The project met all safety and quality benchmarks, redefining the workspace and elevating the IOB’s presence in the building.

Conclusion

Through collaboration with CBRE Architects and building management, Built Interiors delivered a modern, sustainable workspace while maintaining smooth operations. This project exemplifies our expertise in urban retrofits, achieving innovation and sustainability without compromise.
